An adult, every time

Our kits are made for children aged five and up with an adult present. That is not a disclaimer, it is how the equipment is designed to be used. Hanging and falling are the same activity from a short distance away.

Anchors and height

Living trunks at least twelve inches across, or posts set in concrete. Hang the top strap so the lowest obstacle clears the child's reach by a little, and remember that a loaded line sags in the middle.

The ground underneath

Grass, bark or mulch along the whole run and well past both ends. No paving, no exposed roots, no garden edging, nothing with a corner. One child on the line at a time unless the run is long enough that they cannot reach each other.

Inspect before every session

Thirty seconds: look at the webbing where it touches the trunk, squeeze every carabiner gate, check the ratchets are still locked. Anything cut, cracked or seized comes off the line and does not go back on.

Weather

Wet webbing and wet hands are a different sport. We take the line out of service in heavy rain and after a frost, and we take it down entirely for the winter.
